Hello everyone,
I currently have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT, I think base is 140hp. I would like to try to hit 200hp? What's the best way to get that and how much it would cost?
Thank you.
Ignore the trolls mate, first I'd start by researching forums regarding your vehicle. Like what kinda power has been made on stock internals, then shoot for that. Or if you'd prefer making good power at stock you can import a motor that is FWD (I have no idea, I prefer RWD). Considering you probably don't want to swap motors. You can start by taking apart the head (please note anything done from here would need a tune) stock internals no tune you could maybe make 160hp if that is your base.
Take the head off start by getting the head ported and polished, new cam shafts, cam gears, ARP Head studs, Cold air intake, 3 inch exhaust (Anything bigger than 3 sounds like shite.) If you are manual (hopefully you are) check to see what kind of power the stock clutch can handle. If's not much might want to look at replacing the clutch (Do not get a puck clutch) unless you are actually tracking the car. I had to replace the clutch on my 04 JCW FWD just sucks overall, RWD is easy ya just undo bolts wiggle in rotation pull off and go from there. FWD ya sometimes have to pull the engine or drop it. Alll in all m8, if you want something easy you could sell your car get something RWD and easier to manage V8 will easily have that power with stock block, same with anything jdm with Aspiration. My 3500$ 1j mark three blew the doors off a few 20k 500 hp vettes, although I had some mods done myself nothing too big. Pm if you have questions. I do tuning for Power Fc's and E-manage but if ya get to that stage I can help you m8 even if it's not something I'm used to.
Edit: You could get a 3sgte lol forgot about those.
Remember this mate, four things an engine needs...
Air, Fuel, Spark Compression, order is off but if you focus those youll be okay.
