If i was to try my local dragstrip for fun (i dont have any race cars lol) whats tge best way to get a good launch in an auto and a stick(all stock cars)

For a 6 speed stick should i rev it up and footbrake it till the light comes green? Traction control on, "half off" or off conpletely? Do i just kinda drop the clutch n smash it off the line?(within reason) lol like im just not exactly sure how to do it. Ive ran at a track before but it was just like a 3/4 mile old road my buddy re did on his property. Never ran a car on a real track before.

Same question about an auto

Like i said i dont have racing slicks or anything remotely enhanced on the cars. Its just for fun but id like to get best technique possible. A good youtube video showing footwork would be cool.

Autos just get it up to like 2.5-3k while "break boosting" and let her loose.

Manual I rev to about 4k and feather my clutch.

Traction control always off unless you're a girl.

Really depends lol..

Autos, I'd say neutral bomb the fuck out of it OR learn where your tires break loose while your brakes are applied and stay right below that.

Manuals, feather out of the clutch while holding your RPMS not too high. After you start accelerating, punch it and feather it as needed to keep traction...

And for the love of god, don't be a granny driver not knowing how to shift.

Well the auto will be a bmw x5 not technically mine so im not gonna bomb it

For the stick its mine and ive driven stick a long time, very confident in my shifting. This is gunna be interesting xD getting a pretty common consensus here

For a manual trans just make sure the stick is in the R position (racing), this adds traction especially for fwd cars. Hold revs no lower than 5k (diesel is the exception) then dump clutch.

Also don’t forget to deep stage.

Garaunteed respect at the end of the run.
