Back in August I went out with 1320 Video for some street runs after the Street Car Takeover Charlotte Dyno night. They finally released the video and the editing seems rushed but hey, it's here.
You can see my car and truck (silver C5Z and blue Silverado) at about 8 seconds in to the video. The Red C6 at 15 seconds makes a later appearance so make note of that.
My interview starts at 2:23. This is where they messed up the editing. The next runs are against a hyabusa and it's actually filmed from that red C6 that makes 800hp. I never ran the bike but my car should be faster than the C6.
Next up at 4:00 are my runs against a 900whp Hellcat. We agreed to a 60 roll and I tried starting in 2nd. 2nd runs to 90mph with the ZR1 TR6060 transmission. I spun hard on the first run and we tried 2 more with me starting in second but I could never get it to hook. I started in third for all of the remaining runs and we ran from 50-60mph. Starting in third i was just over 3000rpm which is terrible since my car is procharged. The hellcat is an 8 speed auto so he would jump out on me each time and I'd reel him back in.
When he comes over into my lane on the second run we almost died. That was around 130mph slowing down and his car slid over 2 full lanes going into a turn. He was basing his speed off mine but he forgot I was driving a Z06 with coilovers and 275/40/17 potenzas in the front compared to his battleship of a Hellcat on Hoosier slicks and skinnies.
The straightaways were very short on that piece of interstate so we only made like 2 pulls where I got to run 4th gear all of the way out which is around 160. All in all we ran about a dozen times. The hellcat driver was a really nice guy and I'm looking forward to running him again as we are both doing a round of upgrades this winter.
The other camera man was in the hellcat but his expensive camera broke and he filmed with his IPhone. They ended up not using any of his video so you don't get to see my car from the outside at all. That's a shame because it would have been the better viewpoint and I have some chase video that shows my car was shooting some nice fireballs on the shifts haha.
