Trying to slog through all the bullshit and figure out what the good brands are for suspension parts

Seems the old standby is TRW or Moog, but also hearing less than optimal reports on some of their parts recently

Looking for RECENT knowledge of what is good, not the stuff your father used, but what is good now?

Ive used the cheap stuff and the expensive and havent noticed any difference. Electrical is usually where quality matters in my opinion. If it makes you feel better though id go with moog

I find that to be true on the short term for just about any modern parts, butI would rather not have to rebuild it yearly

Mostly it comes down to the rubber I guess, that's always the failure point

Moog or raybestos

Havent seen any raybestos parts available (looking at lower control arms and tie rods) , have used their brake components in the past and been happy

we have a few of these cars in the fleet that i deal with. (cop fleet) and the guys who drive them beat the living hell out of them. everything we get in from auto zone. not sure what brand they are but everything we deal with seams to hold up vary well. brakes are the most that we deal with and we went with a step below NASCAR witch is like 20$ difference then the gold brakes are.

Another question, only my left side needs replacement, but should I do both sides at the same time or will it matter ?

Already got lifetime alignment from firestone so not worried about that part

Also wondering if it is easier to do struts at the same time, mine aren't terrible but with 140k miles if it is easier to do at the same time i might as well get it over with

i would do both sides. if one side is going the other usually isnt to far behind it.
the struts i would do at the same time with all that stuff out of the way already it will just make them that much easier to do.
the one bit of advice id give is buy struts fully assembled with springs and all makes it so much nicer to just bolt the whole new deal in then having to deal with swapping the springs over.

thats what im talking about just bolt the fuckers in and done.

Yeah that would be the plan

Little reticent about 1aauto though, their videos are helpful but they don't even list a manufacturer on any of their parts and that concerns me

rockauto.com

and ill agree about the cheaper parts maybe not lasting as long although thats a toss up i just wasnt sure if you were worried about longevity or its a "ill probably sell it in a couple years" kind of car.
