I'm still debating between getting a C7 or C6. One of the things I most certainly want it the removable roof, so the C6
Z06 is out. However, I do like the Z06 body more. I tried googling the cost for converting a C6 to the Z06 body, but most everything I found was from several years back and showed some pretty high prices. What do you guys think it would run? I dont care whether the parts are OEM or not, as long as the quality is there.

It just seems that I see a lot of C6s that have a much older looking body (as in not as aggressive, not worn/faded) and others look more modern with cleaner lines. I dont know enough about the different body styles available.

I would think after Paint, like $2500-$3500 to convert.

If your doing Front, Sides, Rear. Maybe $800-$1500 for the kit. Paint is the tricky part imo.

If you're gonna get a base c6 i'd rather get the zr6x body kit over the z06, but I guess its more-so preference. I personally vote c7 base (and get your removable top)

also note the zr6x body kit is expensive haha. But either way you'll be paying... z06 or zr6x

Id definitely prefer the C7, but I think I could do more with a C6 as far as building it how I want just because id be saving $10k+
However, my finances are looking pretty stable. Plus I can work 20 hours a week of OT any time I want if I find I need to.

If I can sell my Mustang for close to $10k, the C7 would be pretty doable. Not sure I can get that for it though.

Buy one already done. They are on CF all the time. It adds little residual value at resale. There is quite a big difference in all OEM parts including the inner fender liners vs aftermarket.

Buy an old zr1 instead, looks better
