blew a brake line on my car so i grab my maglite and the batteries are weak so im like ill replace them. had to use vise grips to get the plug off the bottom and its full of corrosion fml. still trying to get the batteries out of the thing but i need a 2.5mm allen key apparently to get the on/off button and all that stuff out of the flashlight. ive tried beating it on the ground and everything.

Soak in lemon juice or white vinegar. If they still wont come out drill into them, force thread the bit into the end of the battery and beat on that.

If it wont come out after that. Buy a new mag lite.

i saw to use baking soda mixed with water to get rid of the corrosion so im doing that. ill probably have to drill them out if i could get the button out i could use something and beat down on the batteries but i cant get my allen bits to hit any screw. they also have a snap ring in the end by the bulb. i thought about seeing if duracell would replace my maglite i think they have a warranty but i have no proof of how long the batteries have been in there.

Lets be honest you're not much of a mechanic if you can't figure out how to remove some stuck batteries, without making a thread on jsp.

finally got it out. drilled a hole and put a bolt in the center and tried to do it like a puller but it just broke the end off the battery. finally got the little butane torch out and heated up the barrel where that battery was a couple times and finally got the damn thing out. now i just have to clean up the inside of the barrel and hope nothing else is wrong. damn batteries lol
