so im looking at buying a miata but idk where to start, my budget is 3k and there is a miata pre boosted running 10psi nearby they want 2k for, need to know if theres any issues running 10psi boost on a miata and what the best route to go for a miata is
here is a list of things im going to want to put on it,

LSD dif
hub and quick release
4x coilovers
4x konig rims
4x firestone tires (free due to them selling me recalled ones)
pipes upgrade so it sounds like a ricer (thinking 2-3" pipes)
2x rims and tires for the track
hardtop
hydraulic break lines for front and rear breaks (separated)
rollcage

any recommendations and stuff lmk im open ears and i have a few welders and most tools so if anyone knows pricing on what it would cost each thing or knows a cheaper build method for what im making let me know.

1.6 or 1.8?

What are they using for engine management?

These motors can take some serious abuse....but for two grand, I'm guessing someone hacked together a turbo setup, and threw a FMU on there to compensate for fueling. If so, definitely not ideal.

Don't get a cage if the car is street driven. That is actually more dangerous. A roll bar would be much better, if you wanted to add some stiffness.

We need more details.

Personally, I'd go with the Flyin Miata supercharger kit.

Google: flyin miata.

not to be a dick here but I gotta ask

Why not get something that you can build to be a lot faster and cheaper?

Yeah, I can't really think of anything cheaper than a Miata. Fox body used to be, not so much anymore. They also don't handle worth a fiddler's fuck.

2 Grand car.
4 Grand FMII turbo kit - if you're a boss. Obviously someone competent can piece together one for less, but flyin' miata is known for some of the most user friendly, like you can know nothing about cars and install this kit, kits.

Chassis doesn't need too much initially, granted you will want coilovers and more meat for the added power (which is around 250 with the flyin miata kit) in a car that without the spare tire and a few things removed weighs at under 2000 pounds.

That's a fun car. A drag car? No. It'll run 13's pretty easy in the 1/4, but it was meant to eat up on tracks, and autocross courses.

The way I've seen it - For around 5-6 grand you can have a reliable, driver oriented, car with a power to weight ratio of 0.125

That's bang for the buck. It's also one of the most competitive racing classes ever. So if you wanna race competitively - getting a Miata isn't a bad move.

well still hunting down the car so my price is between 1k-3k on a fast build, take into account firestone owes me a set of 4 and im prob going with konig matte black backbone tires or the lightning blue/green. as for main parts this car i want to be mostly a dayly but also a drifter if i wana hammer the gass ext witch is why im hunting lsd instead of a fully welded dif.

If you want a drift car why not just buy a clapped 240. It's a better platform
