Plan on getting this old 86 4runner with 22re blown headgasket

Im debating on rebuilding the 22re or going full retard and swapping a 4bt from an old bread truck i have.

Opinions

Anyone ever swap 4bt into an old Yota?

Pros, Cons.

Yeah everything i'm reading up about it, it seems fairly easy as long as you have the swap, clearances and what not seem like cake work

its been done before, do some searching on pirate 4x4.

just keep in mind you adding weight on the front end, so suspension is something youre going to want to look into, and braking as well.....

it is cool, yes and a good swap... but it is kind of a snow ball swap

Depends on what 4bt you have.

If it's an old mechanical injected 4bt it's a 1 wire swap and could be done very easy. The commonrail 4bt get's to be a wiring nightmare.

Just google for kits. There are quite a few companies making bolt/weld ready kits to swap these 4bt's into just about every 1/4ton pickup/SUV out there

I'd be shocked if it would fit?

Yeah it will definitely fit, I've read up on a couple builds, very minor things needed in order for it to work
