So recently I've been really into wanting to learn and do more. The men in my family are all great at it and I'm decent but I wanna be better. Should I just buy some p.o.s car fix it and learn like that or when I'm off my main job help someone who has done it there whole life and be taught??

I work for the county and when I was at the mechanics barn I learned alot (tires brakes etc) but now I'm at the paving barn best I can do is your standard pickups and dumptrucks when I'm not on machinery I'm learning but I love working on the heavy equipment mostly (dump trucks, rollers, trackhoes, backhoes, forklifts) etc.

fixing a junker is one way to go, but i personally preferred learning off a build i actually wanted and gave a shit about.

buying a roller body you like and then starting the research and shit to find out what parts and shit you need to make it all come together was a fun experience.

True enough I know a good bit on certain things but the guy I was working with moved down to the coast n he even offered me a job doing oil and tires which I can do for 15$ but I wasn't leaving my family

Pick up a car and just tear it all apart and then try to figure out how to put it back together

instead of a car, buy some beatup 125 2 stroke and rebuild it. Cheaper than some car and fairly easier to re sell

Actually sounds really fun maybe a 250 tho so I'd have a new toy til it sells and plus I wouldn't need a trailer to get a pos car home throw a bike in my truck n go :)

eh about as much of a learning experience as fixing a lawn mower though.
