Currently looking at getting a '12 bmw 335i xdrive with m sport package. It's a manual and the E92 (coupe) version. Has 44k miles on it.

After reading around here it looks like dependability could be an issue, any opinions from people that actually have a E9x? Or people that know a friend that has one?

Repair costs wouldn't deter me, but if it's ridiculously horrid I may look towards something else.

I don't think it would be ridiculous unless you try to keep it well past 150,000 miles.

It's the N55 so I think it'd be alright. Apparently it's the N54 that tends to have reliability issues.

n55 turbo is weaker than the n54s but otherwise n55 is more reliable


to the OP, why are you getting xdrive, do you live in an area you actually need it?

repairs to the 4wd will absolutely rape your wallet, but everything else isnt bad

i owned a 07 335i and now i own a 12 135i

both great cars, both motors are really strong motors, juice box is absolutely recommended

Didn't your transmission die in your 3 series?

yeah not sure if that was the car or me though so cant really comment much on that

havent met anyone who had problems with the 6 speed and my 3 was automatic

Yes, I live in an area where ill need it. Heck it just snowed yesterday.

Should be going to look at it this week. If all goes well I'll prob buy it.
