Why...
Nothing under $25k is notably fast.

.As far as new vehicles go you won't find anything fast for 25K.

Go used with low miles than you can find a few things that are moderately quick.

1. Why do you want the "fastest?" There's much more to driving a car than it just being "fast," and certainly much more to offer. Being balanced is more important.

2. What kind of mods would you be doing and why do you believe you have to wait until your warranty is expired to complete said mods? You can modify a good chunk of you car without ever worrying about warranty.

3. Cheapest, new, fastest car for $25k would be a WRX (~26k), 370z (30k), or a mustang gt/Camaro SS if you can talk them down several thousand dollars.

Otherwise, you have cars like gti, focus st, fiesta st, civic si, gt86/brZ, Miata, v6 muscle.

For 25k budget, just buy a used 3 or 4 series and call it a day.

only if OP has the budget for repairs

So your 4-5 year old car hasn't needed anything done to it yet? Shocker. Post back up in another 4-6 years. You are still within the warranty period, it isn't supposed to break yet. Doing the work yourself negates most of the cost but it is outside of most people's comfort zone.
