Was wondering what's the best type of dirtbike to get for beginners, 2 stroke or 4 stroke.... new & used, (not sure which i'll getyet)
Also, 125 or 250cc?

Does anyone know a good site to buy used or new dirt bikes? (probably new)
Also, are there any major differences for each brand? Yamaha, kawasaki, sazuki, etc

2 stroke 250cc is my fav, but 2 stroke can also get your hurt when you aren't used to the power band and they require more maintenance.

250cc 4 stroke is a good beginner bike. plenty of power, not too hard to start, steady power output. tbh though 4 stroke can be rather boring, but safe bets usually are.

aside from steel vs aluminum frame there really aren't any major differences besides build quality. yamaha is my 4 stroke brand and honda is my 2 stroke brand.

would highly suggest you don't buy new.

you're going to wreck..that wreck can cost you new plastics, handbars, levers, pegs, etc.

plus you really really need to go sit on them. your height can be a big factor in which one you choose.

they'll have used and 1-2 year old still new bikes to look through as well.

you'll need to try on riding gear while you're there as well. using your regular clothes sizes and ordering them over the internet doesn't work too well.

I have to second 2 strokes I believe in them if you have a buddy who has one try his to get a feel for it size/power/and general knowledge wise to get used to it I did it for my first four wheeler it made a big difference but as far as first bike/ four wheeler you will wreck n its alot better to wreck a older one than a brand new one you got the day before lol been there before

yeah thats a good bike to start with. in a year or so you might want something bigger but unless you get really into it i doubt a 250 4 stroke will ever get boring to you.
