Yeah so I never did work alot with 2-strokes engine and always thought that in a 85cc-125cc YAM/Honda/ktm/suzuki etc, engine (motorcycle), the transmission is isolated from the internals (crank and up).

So the transmission oil serve only for transmission purpose.

And the mixed intake serve for internal lubrication (crank journal, wrist, piston, rings).

Therefore the tranny oil should never be in the block (aka if you loose some it could be vacuumed from a bad crank bearing seal)

Am I right, and if not please explain !

Correct. Trans oil is separate. There are wet sump lubricated 2 strokes out there though.

I will be online buying the shop manual for my cr125 2005 and will perform a complete rebuild this winter !


Well if anyone has one electronic version of this manual 'd appreciate it.
