What brand new car would you get with a 30K USD budget? Has to be brand new because I just dont want to deal with potential used car issues. I prefer coupes. Currently driving a 2013 honda accord.

Right now its a toss up between a second gen subaru brz or a ford mustang. I prob cant sport a mustang cuz im asian, but i love the new model.

i'd go mustang.

tbh the new models are way less "american" so i don't think being asian matters.

How concerned are you with winter coming?

Not sure if their is a right or wrong answer here so I'll give a bunch -

Rear wheel drive - mustang or camaro (stripped down v6) or Hyundai Genesis 2.0T with the turbo 4banger. in b4 "BRZ" lol.

Awd - Subaru or (maybe) also the Ford Fusion. No clue how much all of the options would raise the price on the Fusion.

Then we get to the bland Honda's, Mazda's, etc......yawn.

Out of those two, brz.

If 30k usd is your budget you cant afford the crowds medical bills.

Edit: posssible used or talk down a mustang gt to 30k.
But I am a camaro guy, you could get a nice v6 new.

I don't see how race has anything to do with what kind of car you drive, but......

BRZ Limited (2017 isn't a second gen model, just a face lift, but I highly recommend you spring for that over previous years) Also, you can get the WELL WORTH It performance package on 2017 models which includes brembos, sachs dampers, and different wheels ($1200 for the package)

Mustang GT (Depending on your location, you could negotiate a GT down to $30k)

2.0t genesis hasn't been made in a few years, and the Genesis coupe, for the moment, is no longer in production. If you go that direction, you're looking at a used 3.6L or possibly a new 2016 on the lot.

V6 Camaro. Still has 336 HP and you can get 2lt

New Miata (if preferred, hard top is available soon)

GTI if you want hatch

WRX if you want sedan

My top two suggestions would be BRZ if you want a small car, Mustang GT if size/weight doesn't matter and speed does.

If your race really matters to you, Civic.

No, it really doesn't.

The rear end is an abomination to the automotive industry with tacky tail lights, rear panels and lines that slope back and narrows inward.

Don't get me wrong, they did a good job with the front end, but the rear looks incredibly underdeveloped.

You can disagree all you want, but there is an overwhelming number of people that agree that he rear end is horrendous. A quick google search easily supports that.

If you're going to go luxury euro at a base, entry level price, you're better off spending a few grand more for a 2series or a3
