Ole lady came home today and parked it with no problems, I go to take it to the gas station and it will no longer shift out of park. The shifter will move, but it acts like it isn't catching, and doesn't actually shift to where the shifter says it is. Any help fellas? I've torn apart the shifter assembly and everything seems to be moving right, cables are all still attached.

Already found this, the problem is reported as not being able to shift due to blockage, but mine moves freely just doesn't actually engage.

ah i had just heard this was a common shifter issue i kind of assumed it wasn't the actual lever being stuck but the lever not being able to actually control gear changes was the recall.

lols you are screwed hard trying to google this because of that recall. just gonna get the same crap i thought was the problem all day long.

stupid question but does your shifter have a little key insert where you can put your key into, usually its to "unlock" the shifter if theres too much pressure on the parking gear but I guess it wouldn't hurt to see if it would "lock" the shifter shaft back to where it should be?

idk I don't work with dodge cars or trucks too often lol.

Turned out to just be the bushing and clip on the linkage at the Trans. Fucking autoparts store only wants to sell me a 200 linkage though. Any good MacGyver fixes that will hold up?

Go buy a small spool of wire for 10 bucks and wrap that bitch back up.
