Ok so I'll keep it short !

I looked all over our Quebec selling websites and could not find any suitable 1995-2007 CR125 motorcycle.
I open craiglist and first thing I see is a great priced (yeah USD$ but still good price) ยด00 CR125, in New-York, near the borders...
Now, is it an easy trade to buy this bike over borders (taxes?) and how is it to switch the owner from the US license place to our Quebec SAAQ license place ?
I have the passeport paper and can enter USA no problem. I can also drive my F-150 there.

Anyone ever hapen to do this ?

your best bet would be to call the SAAQ and ask them ... for sure you will have to pay taxes depending how much you payed for the bike and since its coming out of quebec it will need an inspection in order to be licensed with a quebec plate

Either do this or search google a bit and no, I'm not being a smart ass when I say this. Granted, specific search words ya may have to try a few options.

Hopefully ya don't get hit with the Harmonized sales tax (HST) which can be as high as 15%.

Yeah probably will on monday. I just need it registered to my name and licensed off-road to be able to ride it at the track and in the trails.

well y'know, I like to ear story from people who already did this.

And like Andre said, here in Quebec, we pay 15% tax on everything.

If I buy a dirt bike 2000$ here, used, I must pay the 15% fee (300$) to register it in my name at the "DmV".

usually we just tell the dmv we payed a hell of a lot less for something so the taxes are less. talk to the person you are buying from and ask them to write you a bill of sale for like 1000 dollars or something lower so your taxes are lower. game the system. also your best bet on your questions would be go to your dmv whatever you have and ask them what you need to do. when i bought a car from missouri and brought it to kentucky they told me i needed to do whatever missouri required for a title transfer and then bring it to my local sheriffs office to have an inspection done (basically make sure vin numbers matched title).
