Hey guys,

I am in the process of buying a 2015 STI, used with 25k miles on it.

I just contacted the seller and he said something that I'm not really sure how to interpret, either this is a bad thing or a good thing.

This is quote on quote his message about me inquiring about the car:

"Yes it is loaded with all the options minus body kits, I am the first owner I drove it off the lot with 8 miles on it and did proper break in procedures the stock stats say 15 pounds of boost but do to proper break in it get 17 pounds with the stock setup"

Sorry for his English, I just wanted to keep the exact words he used. I looked on STI's website and it says the stock boost should be around 14.7-15, is this something to worry about being at 17?

The car still has it factory warranty of 30k or 3 years, so there is no tune on the car. However, it is loaded with STI exhaust, STI short throw, and mostly interior things like push start, navigation, etc.

Anything helps, Thanks

just looks like he broke it in a little harder than a normal person would.

probably bumped the boost up to 17 psi because he thought that extra 2 psi made all the difference.. personally don't think theres any noticeable gain from 15-17 psi.

plus if it has 25k miles on it, its not like the turbo is tearing things up being at that pressure.

IT may have been tuned.

look at exhaust (from turbo to back of the car) / intake / intercooler / exhaust for signs of wear on the bolts

ask him if he used OTS tunes (cobb accessport)

as long as it wasnt previously tuned and all the upgrades are bolt on, i dont see where you could go wrong?

3 years of warranty is plenty of time for you to break everything and get it replaced
