Well to star this off, I'm not a Ford guy at all. I got this car for $1,500 turn key drove it home. I'll list the pros and cons I have found.

Pro: Original motor and transmission, matching numbers car
Pro: Power is good but can tell it has more
Pro: aftermarket cam and performance clutch
Pro: New convertible top

Con: Old owner has all kinds of shit wired up in crazy fashions.
Con: needs mass body work
Con: So much little shit, its too much to list.

I have had it sitting a few weeks since I bought it. My Silverado is in the shop so I plated and insured it and drove it 90 miles today. It leaks some oil and sounds good but it rattles like a spark knock when I give it full throttle. I haven't even changed fluids or anything from when I got it as it was planned to be gone through by my shop, but now I have to do it since I'm driving it already. Aside from changing all the fluids and giving it a tune up, is there anything specific about these cars that fail that I should consider replacing? I plan on going all through it eventually as I have the time and money, and this will serve as the start of it all thread. This is not my house its where I bought it from starting pictures.

in my experience these are pretty solid engines, i've owned three 5.0s, my current one has 25k miles on it and i stroked it out to a 347. I would change the fluids, check for metal shavings in the filter to make sure your bottom end isn't rubbing and pull the codes ( you can do this with a paper clip on these cars).

Find your oil leak too, if it's the oil pan gasket those are a pain to replace without taking the engine out.

good luck

or drive it off a cliff since it's basically the worst 5.0 available lol. GT, Vert, Probably auto

I wouldn't even drop a dime into a car like that, especially not as a project unless you have some random hardon for said exact car, just so many better choices. If you have a fox it better only have one of those three listed things.

And I am not free to post my opinion also? Get off your high horse hillbilly. Pointing out that there are much better foxes in much better condition to be had for the same exact price.
and if you didn't give a shit you wouldn't have bothered commenting on my comment.

now keep on being a grumpy piece of dookie
