so my dad is looking at buying a new air compressor finally. we have a 4hp 30 gallon campbell hausfeld portable that he bought probably around 2000 or so. we are looking at a kobalt 3.7hp 60 gallon standup and i was just wondering if anyone had any experience or had heard anything about kobalt air compressors. ive seen that kobalt ones are basically campbell hausfeld and we've had nothing but good luck with that brand. tractor supply has pretty much the exact same compressor but its a porter cable. so anyway if anyone can just let me know anything good or bad youve heard about the kobalt or even the porter cable yeah that would be great.

I've heard that the regulators are shit, but that's about it. My friend has a smaller Kobalt, he uses it all the time on his rental properties, and that is the only thing that went up on it.

I found for the size, Ingersoll Rand's 5 hp single stage compressor was the best Cfm, for the money. The pressure switch is the only thing I've had fail In thousands of hours of use.

My dad had an IR 80 gallon that he never had a problem out of. I have some of their pneumatic tools. Good stuff for the money.

i saw some of those too. we dont need anything real huge and expensive and the size and price of the kobalt and porter cable were just right i was just wondering about reliablility. like i said i heard kobalts are actually campbell hausfeld and we've had great luck out of the small one we have.

we were looking for 120v but for the cfm we were wanting you pretty much have to go 220v.
