I just bought a set of 35"x12.5" tires for my truck. They rub a little bit on full cut turns. Im thinking about putting wheel spacers temporarily untill I come back from work with more money for a good set of offset rims. Are wheel spacers as bad as everyone says they are? And should they be assembled dry or with loctite like some people say?

I know it causes more stress on many parts of the suspension/steering but as a temporary remedy would it be that bad?

Thanks for any advice!

Could always do some trimming. What truck and how high of a lift do you have?

08 ram 1500. I only have a leveling kit. Ive had 35's before and the only place they rub is inside wall on the control arm

What's backspacing on current wheels?

Must be close to stock if you are hitting the control arms.

Shoot for -12 to -20 offset. That should work fine.

Anything over -20 and you'll start clipping the plastic on bumper (Fenderwell liner)

Stock rims from a 2012 ram. But like i said i dont have money to put on offset rims right now. I was thinking about 1-1/4" spacers for the meantime
-12 to -20 is that value in millimeters or what?

Description? Are those the ones that bolt on your existing studs and give you new studs to then bolt the rim on? The kind you could use to go to a different bolt pattern? I found out i only have a small rub on the top roundish piece that surround my shock/spring (sry idk what the real term for that piece is) but anyways it has somewhat a sharp edge and i dont want it rubbing on my 1500$ brand new tires lol. I bought 1-1/4" spacers but im debating returning them as everyone is discouraging me from using them... Personally i know its just gonna be temporary and im just tryint to figure out the least damaging scenario.... Go without spacers and run the chance to blow up brand new 1500$ tire, or maybe have to replace a few bearings/ball joints or wtv else might get affected from using spacers. Im really leaning towards spacers but just wanna make sure i make the right move!

Thanks for all the replies and suggestion its highly appreciated!

Edit : ok, after a quick google search that i shouldve made before asking... Lol yah hub centric spacers is what i was asking about... I bought them but unsure to use or return. Should I use? Yay or nay? And maybe a quick elaboration on why yes or no? Thanks!

what makes them hub centric is having that lip that supports the wheel just like the hub would

1 1/4th is rather thick might have to use APR extended studs or get ones that have studs with the same bolt pattern on them

That's correct.

1.25" is too much for your application. You're going to tear up the plastic liner in your wheel well. You'll also need to trim your front bumper to clear as well.

Try to get a 1/2" spacer.

if you did wheel spacers do these. not those shitty ones with the extended lug nuts...

idk how many times ive come across those damn wheel spacers (since 99% of them are made of soft aluminum) that have bent and/or warped and damaged hubs, lug nuts, rims, or completely broken apart on the highway.

i'd say just be careful with the way youre driving and save yourself the 100-150$ the spacers are gonna cost you for the rims youre gonna buy anyways.
