So tonight my headlights randomly wouldnt turn on. Just the low beams, highs still work. I assume its not the bulbs because the chances of both going out are slim.

I dont plan on looking at it until tomorrow in the day light. I've heard theres been headlight switch recalls for Volvo's of these years so that'll be my first step tomorrow. Other thing I've heard is faulty CEM's which seems to be a pretty pricey fix give the year of the car. Any other things I should look for? You guys know I'm not too familiar with Volvo's and their shitty electrical systems. Cars an 03 S60R

May be helpful.....if your car uses the same CEM.

Okay, you are going to need to drop the Central Electronic Module to access the low beam shunt and resistor. This is under the dash on the driver's side. Remove the panel from along the driver's side of the center console. There is a slotted retainer toward the back edge of the panel. Rotate it 90* , pull the panel out and slide it back to remove. Then remove the two torx 25 screws holding the kick panel under the dash. The CEM in held into a bracket. You need to release the CEM from the bracket with a screwdriver or similar and it swivels out and then comes down. You can swap the shunt and relay with another one from the CEM. Swap one at a time and re-check the operation of the lights. Let me know what you find.

Was a faulty CEM but today I spun a rod bearing on the highway. Story of my life haha.
