yeah pretty sure i got a heater core leak in my 2000 model jeep wrangler... i drive it everyday to work been noticing a sweet smell of antifreeze and getting a film on my windshield passenger side...

this morning they was a small puddle of antifreeze under my jeep so i guess its hitting the ground instead of dripping in my floor board..

but this is the confusing part... now my blower motor or nothing isnt working.. was driving it yesterday smoke came up my vents it was still working after that.. but when i parked it yesterday and went back this morning it wasnt working at all

any ideas? its the 2000 jeep wrangler 2.4

Unless you're seeing coolant on the floor of the vehicle, I'd rule out the heater core.

You're, most likely, losing coolant from some source on the engine - like the thermostat housing gaskets, or the hoses that run back to the heater core.

Without coolant you won't have heat, which could lead to the hazing on the windshield (if that's what you were referring to).

The heater controls are a common failed component. The resistor dies in them, often times only letting one setting of the fan motor activate.

I'm fairly sure there are a bunch of videos about that replacement.

But I'd spend some time, under the vehicle, investigating the source of the coolant leak.

Luckily, since you have the 4 banger Jeep, you should have plenty of room to see, and investigate the situation.

the thing is the heater core hoses are getting coolant to the heater core.. i put my hand on them with the engine running and there good and hot but still no heat... and i dont smell the antifreeze until i turn my heat on..

i had the head gasket replaced not long ago also because of a freeze plug busted on me while going down the road and lost all my coolant

im about to go take my dash apart and see what i can find out

hazy film on inside or outside of windshield? also have you checked your coolant level? i agree with andy sounds more like a hose or something leaking if coolant is outside the vehicle not inside it. you need to find the source of the coolant leak because obviously if its leaking the heater is going to be the last thing you'll be worried about when your engine runs out of coolant and melts down.

Hazy film on the inside. And yeah I've been keeping a eye on my coolant level it barely has used any at all from my reservoir. Radiator was completely full. I think the antifreeze came from the radiator lid as crazy as it sounds like it may of been under pressure. I have been out there all evening can't find no where that it is leaking from. edit. I took my dash apart also like I said and I figured out where the smoke came from. Was a loose connection on the knob that turns the heat off and on and it got hot and pretty much melted it but no idea why it didn't blow a fuse instead
