So yea I decided that noise annoyed me enough to change it.

Compressor and coil are obviously fine, so I'm trying to find the clutch with bearing...

car is a wrx 2010 sedan....anyone here has done that repair on their car?

saw couple of vids on youtube, doesn't seem that complicated...id just need to borrow the tool to check the spacing at the end..

here's a vid of the noise (sorry in advance for vertical vid lmao)

Get a new belt and skip the compressor all together. It's an expensive fix. Unfortunately you'll no longer have A/C.

or!

Maybe you just busted the springs on your old compressor.

I found this thread-

pretty sure it's only the bearing that needs replaced. the compressor itself is doing its job

on that video the AC isnt on. so the clutch hasnt engaged the compressor
