So my current vehicle is a 2012 Chevrolet Orlando

It's an econobox, through and through....possibly the least fun vehicle to drive on the face of the planet...

that said, it's given me 4 good years with an infant who is now graduating to a booster seat as she is older

I am going to trade in/up to a car

I need something that can be daily driven, is relatively affordable ( 30k and under, preferably around 20k ) canadian dollars

I've really been looking at the mazda 3, got offers for demos around the 17-18k mark, 24k ish for the GT with the 2.5 liter

Is there anything comparable I should also be investigating ?

Things I want

- Fun ish to drive
- Reasonable fuel economy
- Reliable

I am done with needing tonnes of cargo space and hauling around strollers and playpens and 3 bags worth of formula and diapers and other stuff....

Honestly, just get a 2016 civic.

There isn't really a brand new "fun to drive" car in your price range that is appropriate for your situation.

Rally-driver wannabes and hot-hatch hooligans, your wait is over: The Focus RS is finally headed for our shores. With a 2.3-liter turbocharged four that sends 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels, the RS will come standard with a six-speed manual and a unique torque-vectoring system. Ford says it hits 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Michelin Pilot Super Sports wrap nineteen-inch wheels. Developed with input from Ken Block, the RS should be stiff competition for the Subaru WRX and VW Golf R.

Starting MSRP1$46,969

jesus christ way outside my range though lol

My first car was a 1996 Ford Probe GT

Swapped the motor for a KLZE, well not me....paid a shop to do it...

car was a ridiculous amount of fun to drive

I want that feeling when I drive again

A coupe is doable with a kid(s), but not extremely ideal.

Mazda 3 hatch, or if you can swing it, a GTI.
