Weird....isnt it already illegal to drive cars that are not fully street legal? How is that any different?

They can't really make it illegal to mod cars privately on private courses for example.

Fully street legal means it meets local/state safety criteria AND emissions. What they're trying to do is completely ban any modifications on your vehicle.

...that seems like it could be a slippery slope.

Does anyone have the exact wording on the EPA's proposal? As the petition is written, it'd make it illegal to convert a car to a racecar... which means that any and all backyard hoonigans would have to build a tube-frame from scratch, because modding an existing car would be illegal, which is, of course, a ridiculous amount of over-reach.

That sounds completely impossible to even come close to happening.

Putting a sticker is a modification and falls under Freedom Of Speech in the Constitution....

So its a superfluous law?.. Not sure on the wording, but it sounds fucking dumb if that's what they're trying to articulate.
