Alright so I have kind of an oddball car. Some say this motor has sort of a noisy valve train on start. But I am to curious for that since I do all the work myself. The slight clatter always goes away when warn or about 10 mins or so.
it's obv 32 valve with solid lifters. correct weight oil is being used.

Bearings or a lifter going bad is my guess.

Could just be that it's a really cold start lol
metal shrinks and expands with heat, my old waste gate rattled until the car warmed up cause the shaft needed to expand

this thing has slave cam chains that have tensioners they are expanded by oil. it also has a loud injector tick. The lifters are like it's basically a cap over a spring with shims that are designed to wear the cam lobes are pretty big on these cars. I gotta re seal oil pan anyway just sucks in this new york cunt weather.
The pistons are put together with TTY bolts. it's really hard to tell by sound if it's a small rod knock.
