There's this guy on selling a 1991 twin turbo rhd mr2 imported from japan(Not a conversion) for 4500 or trade for a car about the same price. I own a 2006 Ralliart with enough work done to it to be worth about what he wants for it so I'm debating offering him a trade so I can flip the car but I'm not entirely sure what they are worth or how big the market would be for one of these but I've read about them being worth about 10 grand.. And those are the lhd models.

Since it's imported from Japan the odomoter is reading km so the miles are really about 125k

This dude posted shitty pictures but here are the ones he posted

Would it be worth trading my car for it?(I love my lancer lol) and if I did would it be hard to find a buyer for it? And what would the market be like? I'm in California

I just don't know much about mr2s lol

They're confusing "twin turbo" with "twin entry turbo". I'm 99% sure their was never a factory twin turbo MR2.

From mr2.com:
Twin entry turbocharger:

Multi-cylinder engines have ranges in which there is some overlap in the
exhaust valve opening timing of one cylinder and its sequent cylinder. This
can cause interference to the exhaust gas flow where the exhaust gases from
the two cylinders join and results in exhaust energy loss in the turbocharged
engine. Also, cylinders which have just finished the exhaust process are
affected by the high back pressure of the exhaust initial process, so that
high pressure gas remains behind more easily. This hinders smooth intake flow
to the engine.

This exhaust gas interference is eliminated in the 3S-GTE engine by providing
two exhaust ports, for cylinders No. 1 and No. 4, and for cylinders No. 2 and
No. 3, together with two scrolls inside the turbine housing. This new design
increases the engine's low-speed performance and acceleration response.

Does he have all the importation paperwork as well?

This is the biggest factor.

In other words, OP wants to trade his Lancer for a MR2 that is 14 years older, has less power and is a lot more difficult to drive. Not to mention if their will be any issues getting it licensed in CA.

Seriously dude, you are setting yourself up for fail.

5-7k depending on condition. I've owned 4 of them, good cars cheap power fun to drive. Mid engine can be tricky to work on you will get the hang of it after a few times wrenching on it.

I have a 91 lhd gen 3 3s w/ a disco potatoe atm.
