we are worried its antifreeze cuz its red. incase its the head gasket.

but the oil is not milky. its just kinda red.

the antifreeze is only down a small amount.

and the oil is perfect level... it would go up if other fluid was going in :\

so did they just use redline or motul last oil change? and we are worried about nothing here?

its a dodge ram 1500 sxt

If it was antifreeze it would be milky. Change it out and check it in a day or two. It's probably just fine.

ya already changed it out and now when u wipe the dip stick on paper towel it looks pink cuz of the old oil the engine was coated with mixed with the fresh oil.

but then we thought about it and the preveious owner said he never even looked under the hood and he didint change the oil himself... then the next time we talked on the phone he said he remembered it being a little red... so that right there sounds like he was lying and there is a problem... theres still 5 years warranty but we dont wanna have to deal with a problem that can lead to other problems down the road.

hes a rich farmer and he buys new trucks every few years so we kinda jumped on the deal thinking it was good.

hopefully everything is fine and the last oil that was put in has a red colour to it.. i googled and read that redline and motul have oil that is red. hoping this is what it is

Marvel "Mystery" Oil has a red tint and is commonly used, sometimes to cover up slight lifter noises because of lack of oil flow. My Jeep has a slight tic until the oil warms up or, I can put a bit of Marvel in it, which is super light and never hear it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Change the oil and keep an eye on the radiator. After running it for a while, let it cool and take the radiator cap off. Any sign of oil = worry.

coolant in oil isnt going to make it red it will make the oil a chocolate milk color and youll see streaks of dark oil that isnt mixing with the coolant.

more than likely they used something like redline motor oil. have you noticed any performance issues that leads you to believe theres a problem? if not i wouldnt worry too much about it.
