A family friend is selling her Escalade and said she'll give it to me for $6000 CAD (about $4000USD).

It has 130,000km (80,000miles) on it.

Should I jump on this deal?

It's probably in great shape. The family always takes really good care of their cars from what I've seen over 20 years I've known them. Also, they usually get a new car every 5 years or so, so I'm guessing it's relatively new.

Is it very expensive to maintain / repair? I've put like 3k into the piece of crap I have now over the past 2 years, so i'm used to paying tons for repairs.



I've never driven one and hate driving big cars, but I'm willing to get used to it.

4,000$ for a 80k mile Escalade sounds like a good deal to me.
