Ole lady has a 2008 dodge avenger, the passenger window stopped rolling up today, will go down but not up. I disassembled the door panel and pulled the motor to test it. When plugged in the motor will turn when the down switch is pressed, does nothing when the up is. I also tried rolling it up from the driver side controls and same thing. Am I to assume the motor is bad?

It's the switch. If the motor works one way it will work the other way if you reverse polarity.

I would think that if it was the switch then the driver side would have been able to roll it up.

How can I test this to be sure?

pop the other switch off from the other side and swap them easy way to test.

I tried this, still nothing, and now the lock door button won't work on either side, it will still unlock though.
