so my buddy is pulling out his 96 5.7 vortec and I can get it for free

But my question is are these things 2 bolt or 4 bolt and can I just throw a old school distributor and my intake on it and run it as carb? Or is this block different than gen 1 ones?

Idk why I can't find this on google -_-

1/2 ton trucks are 2 bolt 3/4 and 1 ton are 4 bolt. The heads have a different bolt pattern (8) vs the standard (12) pattern. I assume someone out there makes a carb intake for them. The engine code is L31.

so my Intake I already got won't fit?

And i guess if it's a 2 bolt, I'll just go buy a 350 4 bolt, they pretty cheap
