Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying a car. Most likely used.

I live where the summers are hot as hell and the winter colder than on Mars.

I will mostly be using this car to drive home on weekends from where I go to school. It's roughly a 2 hour drive.

I may also be using it to go skiing on week nights if possible.

I will not be driving to go to classes in the week and all that stuff.

I've been told to go with a Civic or a Toyota.

Personally I've seen a lot of relatively new (2007-2010) for 2000$-5000$ like Chevrolet, Hyundai and Ford which seem to interest me.

The cheaper the better! :) I'd love to just get myself a Ford Escape but they aren't good on gas.

Honda civic

Nissan sentra

Toyota corolla

Toyota Camry

Now jus find one with no big issues and hopefully 2000 or newer.

I've looked this up and it seems a sporty type of car. I'm not interested in anything over the top to be honest.
I need something that is useful, looks come second.

Plus I looked to see if any are selling around here and none that are reasonable compared to other cars.

I'm responding because a couple of guys on here suggest this car but I feel it isn't what I'm looking for.
I don't race, I don't plan on pimping out a car, I don't care much if people think it looks good or not xD

I have a car I use to bomb around in, it's a '02 Buick. The car has over 400,000km on it and I never do any work to it. Just change the oil and top up the washer fluid and some new tires is about all I've done in the last 5years. Not a pretty car but reliable & cheap. Mostly old people drive them so they have a easy life.

I agree but the Subaru you'd get for between $2-5k would be a complete POS.

If you don't normally drive fast but still want to be able to get around, especially during the winter (you mentioned skiing=snow) giving another +1 for a Jeep xj Cherokee.
