I took this project back off my shelf and got to work completing it.

here you can see the carved basswood wing root fairings installed

Next step was to cover the wing with UltraCote adhesive heat shrink covering

Cut the Canopy to size and attached it using clear DAP all purpose adhesive sealant

And finally printed out some decals on sticker paper, sealed the ink with aerogloss clear and applied to the plane.

All done and ready for her maiden flight!

attempted to hand launch this beast today at sunnyvale baylands park in the morning.
Success!

I went through two batteries for about 24 minutes of flight time. 4 hand launches and 4 landings.
This thing flies great and looks amazing in the sky.
It tip stalls at a higher than average speed so I have to keep it going fast.
Landings are fast and rough. Must fly in dense grassed areas only.
It had a slight wobble at high speeds due to a less than flawless rudder construction angle.
I'll work on adding a third hinge near the control horn of the rudder and bend the control rod a bit to increase stability.

I'd estimate the level flight ground speed at around 80mph at 100% throttle. A little more once i fix the rudder.
