Co-worker drove that thing last weekend. It's just brutal. Amazing what Honda is capable of doing with that base.

And yes this car is currently the fastest front wheel driven car on Nürburgring Nordschleife even beating BMW M cars:

Whats your opinion on that amazing car  ?

A very good example of just because you can doesn't mean you should. Regardless of how well it was engineered they're deliberately starting with a handicap given its fwd base car. If Honda wants to build another real sports car they should make a new s2000.

edit:

Really though the presence of the Type R will help push sales of base model cars to idiots who don't know any better and because the Type R exists will think the car is "sporty".

Im just hoping the presence of the Type-R, and the RS will make STI's, GTI's, and sports sedans reconsider their HP..

Paying 35k for a car with 200 hp is BULLSHIT

STIs and competitors have had 300+ hp for a long time. GTIs will never be about high hp.

It's as pointless as every other overpowered fwd-based car like VW golf R, Audi S3, etc. Only difference is: this car is the best at being pointless. Best thing about it: it's pretty cheap costing 33000 euros (including taxes). In germany you get a base BMW 3series for that money (including a shitty 136 bhp engine).

One shouldn't underestimate that being fwd-only this car remains lightweight in comparison to the AWD cars, thus it was able to beat off its direct competitors.
