It's as pointless as every other overpowered fwd-based car like VW golf R, Audi S3, etc. Only difference is: this car is the best at being pointless. Best thing about it: it's pretty cheap costing 33000 euros (including taxes). In germany you get a base BMW 3series for that money (including a shitty 136 bhp engine).
One shouldn't underestimate that being fwd-only this car remains lightweight in comparison to the AWD cars, thus it was able to beat off its direct competitors.
