Highly depends on what kind of car you have...

I would say that 30+ is desired. 40+ is excellent for an economy car.

I get around 42mpg highway I'm doing the posted speed in my dd. older 4cyl are great. I get better MPG than my bosses company Prius

I shoot for an average of at least 20 lol. My truck usually hits 18-19 over an entire tank and both of my cars get just over 20 unless i do a lot of city stop and go. Combined the 3 have about 1200hp though.

off topic but II just built a 1300hp daily cummins that got 28mpg hwy LOL

You can get over 100 mpg with some hybrids. The cars mpg also depends a lot on the driver and their habits.
