Incredibly sexy, but finicky engine and shit on gas, plus I don't think rotaries sound all that great except for the 787b.

Personally though I'd do it. It's a unique ride for sure, definitely a head-turner.

These are quickly becoming valuable.

I'd say it'd depend on what you want to do.

If you want an investment, buy it. Keep it stock. They are appreciating like mad.

If you want to modify something, look elsewhere. These are like the Holy Grail to rotary guys.

I'm a HUGE rotary fan. For longevity I love the 12a found in the FA and FB cars.

I work on a 84 FB quite often for my friend. He's driven the car 100K + miles with very few hiccups.

Feasibly, they get poor gas mileage, consume oil by design, and the twin turbo system can be troublesome. Most swap to a larger single turbo instead, to simplify things.

You really have to WANT a rotary to own one. They certainly take a specific type of person.

My .02

I LOVE em. :D

EDIT: 'cept the RX-8, the Renesis platform can go fuck itself.

thanks guys. I do plan on going a single turbo, and I really only need 3-400hp. May just save up some more and buy one instead of selling the frs.

Because of the failure of porting design?

My .02 being a previous FC RX7/ FE RX8 owner,

I would invest in a daily driver on the side because rotaries are far away from being a Honda. (reliability-wise) The engine can be extremely bi-polar on whether it wants to run or not or just flat out wants to frequently flood. Better do your research as well, and tons of it. Rotaries is a completely different animal compared to a standard piston engine. Best of luck, because rotaries can be compared to LSD. You either enjoy the hell out of it or have a bad experience and never want to look at them again.
