For an old car, depends on how the previous owner(s) took car of it. Aside from Japanese being the best in reliability (you dont have to do much to maintain it and keep it running), European/American cars now days rank about equal in terms of longevity. German cars just cost more to maintain if something breaks.

If it has a decent amount of miles and looks like its in a good condition, you should be fine

I'm not referring to that im referring to how you generalized all Japanese cars being reliable and american/European being less reliable. However ride already pointed out the fallacy in you pro con relevancy

I don't mess with old cars mate. And to be honest, most people here probably never owned one or have limited experience with that specific car. All I can point out is a website that shows reviews on how others like it. And the overall consensus is "its not a bad car at all"

What is your personal experience in japanese vs german. Before I bought the merc, I had a 1999 accord and that thing ran for nearly 300k miles. I didn't even really bother with maintaining it; just the bare minimum. I'd chalk that up to good reliability if you ask me

You have a merc? You know that's slang for Mercury, right? Lol
