Why not just buy a faster car and go from there?
Throwing a turbo or supercharger on the car kind of defeats the purpose of it being a lightweight, twistie car. Not to mention you won't get nearly as good of a bang for your buck throwing a supercharger or turbo on that engine compared to like any other car out there
It will still be lightweight. People are making over 400whp before building the engine. That's quite a bit for car weighing 2850ish after mods.
Are there faster cars in the price range of a force induction brz, absolutely, but they are significantly heavier and larger. A 370z can be had at a good price, but it's bulky and heavier. A used corvette can be had, which is nice but generally more expensive to own and I hate comparing used car prices vs new.

It was designed to be driven as it was sold lol
It doesn't defeat the purpose, but you're better off spending the money on a better car to start.
This is a great car to build. It has a large aftermarket support. It's a tuner, driver's car.
If they release this STi model concept with any type of power upgrade, whether it be a larger engine (my guess), or FI (stated that they don't want to go that direction), it will be HUGE.
