Thinking about swapping the engine in my 88 GTA from the 350 TPI to a 454 with a stroker kit to 496. Has anyone done this and do you think it's worth it?

why would that be better then putting a 454, or is that just your personal opinion?

My opinion
400 destroked to a 388 twin turbo would be my choice.

dont put a boat anchor in it. gonna have to beef up the suspension if you want to big block it. if you cant get enough power out of a small block then you need a new engine builder.

Big block swapping that car is costly and a lot of work even if you have all the fabrication skills/tools required.

Small blocks make plenty of power. I'll never go back to a big block in a gasser
