Parents are getting me a new car, which one should I get? Which one would be best in terms of reliability, driving experience, and maintenance cost?

I'm grateful for getting a free car and not having to pay for it, so I need to make this car last as long as possible. Thanks!

Resell, yep.. Reliability is hard to say, almost any modern car is going to be reliable.

I'd find out which has the better resale and warrenty, dealership perks "toyota care is great, not sure about mazda".

Well anything under 20k is what they said, and they suggested those 2 cars and a honda civic. Are there other cars you would suggest for under 20k?

I'm hoping to get a car that will last me like 10 years or so, as I still have a lot of schooling left

imo.... Check out the new Jeep Renegade... Its a bit smaller than a CRV in size, 4wd, gets great gas milage, and that little 2.4 they put in it pumps out about 180 hp..

Pretty neat little truck. They start around 17, and a fully loaded version only bumps it up 8k more, around 25k.

If you're a student (or just graduated within 2 years) u can get 500$ discount off honda civics.

Civic LX can be bought at like 16.5-17k out the door after all incentives. Almost same price as the toyota but is a better car overall.

I just bought my gf an EX model for 18.9 out the door. They also offer 1.99% for 6 years if you need to finance it.

^Man that Jeep looks ugly.

Save yourself the cash and get a used 97-01 Cherokee Sport instead. Run ya about $2,500 - $4,000 for a dependable one on Craigslist. Motors can get 300k without a problem.

Edit: Topic- Corolla of those two choices.
