recently had aftermarket fog lights installed. when my mechanic installed them, he ran the euroswitcher to the battery to receive power. is it okay to have it wired to the battery instead of the fusebox?

did he put a fuse inline with the wire?

Yes. It's fine. Trust your mechanic. You have a separate switch to turn them off/on, right?
