Just bought the 92 kx250 st s good price. As most of you know.
how ever. I changed the gear oil. Shortly after I noticed oil leaking out st the sprocket. So I took it off, and I assume the seal is finished. The nee oil came out milky Brown. There is no side to side play in the shaft the sprocket sits on. The clutch wasn't disengaging properly, sometimes not st all. The clutch side visually looks ok behind the cover and moves out when I pull the leaver, however it's kind of stiff. The other side. We'll look at the picture. What is it? Needs replacing?

There is no anti freeze in oil, and no fuel in oil. The plug looks brand new. And my poor virgin foot got all swollen and sore from kicking tthis this over, so compression is pretty god dam good IMO. So I tthink I can rule out any major problems? Ie. Bad Crank seals, and all thay other stuff that would require a rebuild.

Could the sprocket seal thing cause all my problems? Milky Brown oil, lazy clutch, etc? No oil/not enough pressure down there? Or is there something els I should be looking at/for?

What oil did you use? How long had it been sitting before you bought it?

Just standard oil not sure on brand. 80w
And a year or two of sitting from what I understood. The guy I got it off never had it running to its full potential . He didn't have it long

There could have been enough residual moisture in there to do that.

Make sure you are using a motorcycle specific oil. Try it again.

I got the seal on order, I've been told the name of the shaft the sprocket goes on 3 tines but can't grasp it lol. The oil I did get the guy at Excalibur told me to get so heh.

I did a little research and I'm going to take the clutch apart today and inspect it. If it checks out I'll put it back together and when my seal comes in I'll top up fluids again and see what happens.

Having your cdl is a good thing but honestly I recommend a different career path. Trucking is cool for about 6 months. Not a bad in between job, not a career imo.

If it's what you really want then go for it, fill your boots I wish you the best of luck.

8400 bucks? Ouch.

Who are you going through?

It's been a few years since I went through it now but IIRC it was around 4200 bucks for a 4 week course at ATS in sun prarie, wi. (i think the CDL part is called DDS Diesel Driving School)
