Okay so Im in my moms Volvo V70 and the oil needs a fill apparently.

I have no idea what has been in it historically and its good friday so i cant get a hold of the dealership that does her service.

How much does it matter If I put a different oil in?

Car is an 04 i think, got about 200k on it.

Any tips appreciated!

Open up glovebox, check paper work?

If it's turbo, the dealership put synthetic in, whatever weight google tells you is spec for that car. They probably put full synth in even if non-turbo.

Brand doesn't matter

Thanks guys the manual just said refill with the same oil as last time, always been my mom so presumably dealership till now, manual gives no distinct answer. Just to be consistent, and everything online is just seeming to be listing brand preferences.

Find it very odd the manual doesn't say what oil to put in, for example 10-30

Maybe just didn't see it.

Huge liability not putting that in the manual.

Always remember, when you need to add and Ur not doing a full change, use semi synthetic
