I've got a 65 c10 with a 327 in it. Truck will start up and idle (a little high) but if given any throttle it will start to bog down and die. I believe its probably just an adjustment on the carb, but i don't have any experience with a 2 barrel Rochester and would rather get a second opinion before i start messing with shit.

Does it do it at a constant speed?

Its probably the accelerator pump. I have no clue what the adjustment on it is though..

Most likely the carb needs cleaned/rebuilt/adjusted but also look and listen for vacuum leaks.

It will throttle about half way if i do it very slowly. Can't test it moving yet though do to it not being road ready. Its a truck i bought for my dad and its in the middle of a restoration. I have to install new clutches and redo the break system before i can get it on the road.

Carb just had a full rebuild on it. I'll get some carb cleaner tomorrow to go around and test for vacuum leaks.

Also i appreciate the input fellas.

The solution to a 2 barrel rochester is to buy a modern carb.

This, get a 500 cfm carb from the parts store if your sticking with a moderate motor

Summit racing or jegs has great deals as always, you can also consider a reman holley carb at 1/2 the price of a new one, my 750 was reman, ive never had a problem

Theres nothing wrong with an old rochester, or quadrajet but you have to understand them, and understand them very very well to be able to tune and rebuild them.

I'd like to, but like i said its a truck for my dad and we are trying to keep everything as original as possible. Its his birth year so there is a sentimental aspect to having it all original.

does it have the right size fuel lines ran and have you made sure theres no kinks or maybe the line got pinched by something? if you have another carb i would also try swapping it out with one you know works and see if you have the same problems.
