lol, not sure where i should ask this but i read this section quite enough to know that some of you know lots of things about different things so thought id ask here.

i work A LOT outside, all day long, in canada... where its cold as fuck.

i need good gloves that will keep my hands warm for long enough, sure i will take breaks and warm up in my car but when i'm not in my car, i want my hands to be warm.

budget is 200$ for good gloves, i know nothing about which gloves are better n shit.

Red barons are the shit in winter everyone swears by em in the oilfield myself included. They're not very good for precision work as they're slightly bulky but other than that top notch and like 20 a pair.

More of an insight into what it is you do outside all day would help though.

what i need is more like snowboarding gloves, i only do geophysic stuff outside so my gloves won't have a bad time. i don't do anything that could worn the gloves.

and not really caring about dexterity because i'll take a glove off if i need precision.

^ mittens could work.

thx for the answer tho

If i remember i'll check our stores system at work when i go back. We have these "heat resistant" ceramic coated dyneema gloves that are super thin. They are designed to be used as a 2 stage system when handling hot hoses and pipe. We put pvc coated cotton lined chemical gloves over them.

Point being, they keep almost all the heat out. Inverse of that they keep body heat in. If you could get a pair of these you could put them on under anything waterproof and you'd be set.
