so i sold my miat, and i want to start a new project car. I was orignally thinking about getting a g35 or a lexus, but this jetta has alot of potential i'm just worried about
the german tools :\

Although it looks to be in great shape and it's a nice car, I'd stay away from it simply for the fact it's an automatic 1.8t... i can see a money pit unless you barely drive it... besides the one you want is the very uncommon vr6 vortex styled gli, those hold the best retail value and sound awesome. :)

I haven't had probs with my jetta. U just have to run vw lubricants/coolants. These cars r extremely fussy. The 5sp auto tranny is also bad in these cars. But I had no problems.
