If it is squeaking or squealing under braking, not just riding around, then it is the friction material of the pad making noise against the rotor. There isn't much you can do about that long term. If you pull the brake pads out and sand them with scotchbrite or a scouring pad you can put some texture back on them and knock some of the glazing off. A wire brush will work, as will the textured finish on a concrete driveway. By knocking the glaze of it might stop squeaking for a while.
