So my brother was removing his spark plugs on his 1996 BMW 328is and the socket got stuck in the spark plug tube. We don't think the socket is actually on the spark plug itself, but stuck on the sidewall of the tube. We've tried backing it out, used WD40 and it's currently sitting with some PB blaster on it. We've tried drilling out the back side of the socket to thread it but it's not going well.

Any ideas?

I'll post a picture, but we can only see the top of the socket. There's no access to the sides and bottom.

Weld something to it and pry it out of there.
