my buddy owns a 99 tacoma with wat we suspect is a blown head gasket ( 140-70-70-140 compresion)
runs like shit, but runs everyday, until we had a -40c night.
he cranked it( cuz it was turning) until he had enough fuel in the exhaust to make the muffler explode and open in its full length.
3 days later on a -8c day it finally cranked over and ran as it used to ( bad but ran) so we took it out on the river

the ice doesnt seize at the edge so its pretty slushy for the first 20 feet then we have 12''+ of ice
on the left is the trail the tacoma did on the right is the trail my jimmy and a wrangler did the day before

my buddy hoping he makes it back out with his gutless engine


finally out of the river.

Just replace the motor.... Cheap and it's super easy, cake walk

Also a turboed celica motor does fit in there

currently has the 2.7 3rz engine, didnt find any for salle locally so still leaning towards that head gasket, but if he finds a running engine we probably gonna swap it out cuz hg is pita
