Leading up to now: Past 6 months or so.. Occasionally engine would die when coming to a stop, Pretty much started right up with small amount of gas, then seemed to run fine. Once it started getting cold, (not sure if cold actually affects it or not) upon starting for the first time of the day, it would idle rough, seeming to run on 5 cylinders, exhaust would spudder, idle would go up and down +/- 200rpm. After some time it would level off and run fine.
Today was the first day that it didn't seem to fix itself. It wasn't running real smooth and would die anytime I let off the gas towards a stop. Loss of power and rpm was a bit higher than normal while driving.

First thought was spark plug/wires.. But i'm trying to figure out multiple possible causes, and figure out why after 5 minutes of running the problem seemed to go away until now.

What make / model?

Exhaust leaks ?? No other symptoms? Small or not they may be related.

Both? Dafuq..

E: it sounds like your plugs.. do a tune up and see how she runs.. no cel, it's your cheapest route.. change filters, cords, plugs and fuel filter than see how she runs.

Seems like you have a vacuum leak.

Check the ported vacuum switch. Usually those will trigger a code but can clog up and run a rough idle in the morning. Also the idle air control valve can be stuck. U can take that out and clean it with carb cleaner or intake mani cleaner.
